Yoonhye Choi graduated from Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea with a B.A. degree in psychology. She is also an Asan Young Fellow from the third class of the Asan Academy. The Asan Academy offers university students a liberal arts education program and opportunities to work as interns at think tanks and non-profit organizations (NPOs) in Washington D.C. and Beijing. Her internship at HRNK was made possible through this program. As a student living in South Korea, she has always been curious about how North Korean issues are dealt with outside of the Korean Peninsula. Yoonhye wishes to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current human right issues in North Korea and find a way to enhance the psychological well-being of North Korean refugees.

Internship Application

Successful applicants will undergo a formal interview process before being offered an internship. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. We strongly recommend that applicants apply at least 3 months prior to their anticipated start date. Internships are typically unpaid, but academic credit is honored. A minimum commitment of 20 working hours per week is preferred. Please upload your documents in the .doc format.
