Yeiser Kim is a senior at Cornell University, majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations. While interning at the U.S. Embassy, she participated in conducting interviews, field-research, and writing on the lives of North Korean refuges living in the Republic of Korea, with a particular focus on the migration and resettlement process and the challenge of integrating into South Korean society. She assisted with the logistics, the planning, and the coordination of an international conference on North Korean refugee and trafficking issues, and had various research and writing opportunities on North Korean economic development and other North Korea-related issues. As an active member at NK Focus, a student organization at Cornell University that strives to raise awareness on human rights issues in North Korea, Yeiser has been educating the members about the injustices faced in North Korea. Her future career goal is to be a working part of the implementation of Korean reunification.

Internship Application

Successful applicants will undergo a formal interview process before being offered an internship. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. We strongly recommend that applicants apply at least 3 months prior to their anticipated start date. Internships are typically unpaid, but academic credit is honored. A minimum commitment of 20 working hours per week is preferred. Please upload your documents in the .doc format.
