Sheena Kwon is a rising sophomore at Yale University. She is currently studying Korean at Yonsei University's Korean Language Institute through the Light Fellowship. She is also the Political Chair of Yale's Korean American student organization. She has previously conducted political science research through the Pioneer Research Program, investigating how gender quotas can be better implemented into governments to achieve gender parity. In her future studies at Yale, she hopes to connect her cultural ties to Korean as well as her knowledge of the language with studies of government. At HRNK, she hopes to learn more about the human rights crises in North Korea and advocate for North Korean refugees.
