Research Intern
  • Winter 2019 - Summer 2019

Michele Helen Reyes received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, Indiana) where she studied Marketing, Chinese, and Humanities. She also led the Asian American Pacific Islander student advocacy group as President. She is deeply passionate about human rights and humanitarian work, particularly with respect to North Korea. In college, she became involved with Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) and eventually co-founded the Chicago community chapter of the organization in 2018, taking charge of community outreach and engagement. She hopes to use her communications background to enhance HRNK’s human rights advocacy work and promote a more holistic understanding of the issues surrounding North Korea. Ultimately, she hopes to better understand how international cooperation can lead to real progress on issues faced by the North Korean people and how she can best contribute to this progress in her future career.
