Marina deCordre is a senior at Rhodes College, majoring in Political Science with minors in Philosophy and English. As a first-generation American, she is passionate about defending the rights of immigrants and asylum seekers. Her academic interests include international policy, especially policy development. Her interests expanded into international policy, particularly North Korea, after beginning work on a senior research thesis, in which she’ll explore and critique U.S. foreign policy toward North Korea and modern communist regimes.
Prior to joining HRNK, Marina interned at an immigration law firm, where she led community outreach initiatives through social media campaigns and advocacy efforts for local immigrant-focused policies. During her time at HRNK, Marina is looking forward to diving deeper into DPRK research and especially contributing to efforts aimed at ending the inhumane conditions inside North Korean gulags.
