Mai Hayano is a junior undergraduate student at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.  She majors in International Affairs with dual concentration in International Politics and Asia.  She is also a Co-President of the Japanese American Student Union of D.C., which comprises of six universities around the Washington area.  Being Japanese, she has been interested in the situation in North Korea and moreover, human rights in general. Through her internship at HRNK, she wants to learn how an organization actually practices promoting human rights in North Korea.  After graduating, Mai plans to go back to Japan and pursue her career in diplomacy.

Internship Application

Successful applicants will undergo a formal interview process before being offered an internship. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. We strongly recommend that applicants apply at least 3 months prior to their anticipated start date. Internships are typically unpaid, but academic credit is honored. A minimum commitment of 20 working hours per week is preferred. Please upload your documents in the .doc format.
