Kamila Benallal

Research Intern

Kamila Benallal is a junior at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She aspires to become a human rights lawyer advocating for North Korean defectors and is eager to deepen her understanding of their experiences through her work at HRNK.
Kamila’s interest in North Korean defectors began in high school, where she developed a strong passion for research on the
subject. This interest ultimately led her to pursue her studies at Yonsei University, focusing on the political and social
dynamics between North and South Korea.
Prior to joining HRNK, Kamila interned at the Embassy of El Salvador in South Korea, where she developed foundational research and analytical skills that she now applies in her work. Through her time at HRNK, Kamila hopes to gain deeper insight into conditions in North Korea and to amplify the voices and stories of North Korean defectors.”
