Research Intern
  • Autumn 2017 - Spring 2018

Jun Young (James) Park earned his Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies at Arizona State University and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Asian Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University. His concentrations are political economy and international security politics in East Asia. While his primary regional focus is on the Korean peninsula, Mr. Park also built a strong interest in China during his undergraduate years as he minored in Chinese and studied abroad in Sichuan and Nanjing. He desires to further his knowledge about social problems and human rights issues in North Korea, as he one day wishes to work for a development project in North Korea. He is very grateful and excited for his time with HRNK and the great opportunities he will have to contribute to spreading awareness about North Korean human rights issues. He also looks forward to familiarizing himself with various topics related to post-unification development in North Korea.
