Julie Kim received her Bachelor’s degree with honors from Ewha Womans University (Seoul, South Korea) majoring in German and Political Science. During her studies, she was a member of German-Korean-Junior-Forum from 2014 to 2018 where she discussed inter-Korea relations and Germany’s model for reunification in Korea with students from both countries. Also, she worked at the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation Seoul Office in 2018. Through such experiences, including an exchange year in Germany in 2015 and volunteering work and summer study in Israel in 2016 and 2018, she became interested in the human rights situation in North Korea compared with the Palestinian people under the dictatorship of Hamas.
At HRNK, Julie hopes to learn more about human rights issues for North Korean women, children, and people with handicaps which will deepen her knowledge for her future career.
