Joseph Choi is an undergraduate student at Boston University, majoring in International Relations with a regional concentration in Europe and a functional concentration in Foreign Policy and Security. Although his regional focus is on Europe, as a Korean-American, he has always been interested in the past, present, and future of inter-Korean relations.
His interest in North Korea has continued to grow as he pursued his studies in international relations. Through the foreign policy and security concentration, he has become invested in understanding the threat North Korea poses to South Korea, Japan, and other countries in East Asia.
During his internship at HRNK, he aims to delve deeper into the security threat North Korea poses, the human rights violations that North Korea has perpetrated for decades, and new perspectives on U.S. foreign policy toward North Korea. In the future, he hopes to become an intelligence analyst specializing in military intelligence.
