Il-soon Kim is currently a fourth-year student at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul. She is majoring in Chinese language studies and Northeast Asian studies. She is participating in the WEST program, which is hosted by the Korean and U.S. governments. Her life experiences give her special interest in the human rights situation in North Korea. She wants to learn about international methods to improve human rights in North Korea and she wishes to give voice to the suffering of the North Korean people.
Successful applicants will undergo a formal interview process before being offered an internship. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. We strongly recommend that applicants apply at least 3 months prior to their anticipated start date. Internships are typically unpaid, but academic credit is honored.
