Henri Mattila is pursuing a B.A. in Economics at Cornell University. Having been born in Finland and moving to Philadelphia in 2003, Henri has developed an interest in international affairs and the role each nation plays in an increasingly globalized economy. The unique status of North Korea has sparked in him a preoccupation with the economic, as well as humanitarian, plight of the nation’s ordinary citizens. Having served in the Finnish Defense Forces for the first half of his gap year from college, he seeks to promote human rights in North Korea through his work at HRNK.
