Hayley Noah is a second-year student at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, pursuing an M.A. in Global Policy Studies. Her specialization is Security, Law, and Diplomacy, and she is part of the Graduate Portfolio Program in Security Studies at the Clements Center for National Security. She received her B.A. at Colorado State University in 2017 with a double major in History and International Studies, and a minor in Political Science. Her focus is East Asia, with an emphasis on North Korea security concerns and studying the North Korean leadership. However, she would also like to gain a deeper understanding of human rights issues that form the basis of the North Korean regime. Through this internship, she would like to gain more experience using her research and writing skills as well as understanding the connection between human rights abuses and the regime’s source of power.
