Haeun Rho is an undergraduate student at Yale University, pursuing her study in Global Affairs with a Certificate in Human Rights and Advanced Language Studies in Chinese.
As a first-generation immigrant, Haeun has long championed immigrant and refugee rights. Since high school, she has engaged in humanitarian initiatives both locally and abroad. Over the past year, she has tutored North Korean defectors in English and supported their transition to life in the United States. She strives to translate every insight she gains into stronger protections for vulnerable communities. Haeun’s broader interests encompass human rights, national security, and Indo-Pacific relations.
As a research intern at HRNK, she aims to delve into the intricate dynamics of U.S. policy toward North Korea while furthering her understanding of diverse human-rights issues around the globe.
