Eliza Klingler is currently earning her B.A. in Korean Studies with a minor in Human Rights at Binghamton University, where she serves as Treasurer of the local chapter of Liberty in North Korea (LiNK). For the duration of the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters, she participated in the Source Project, Binghamton’s freshman research program in human rights. While enrolled in the program, Eliza worked directly with Professor David Cingranelli of the Cingranelli-Richards (CIRI) Human Rights Data Project on developing a quantitative early warning coding system for mass atrocity.
Eliza takes special interest in North Korean human rights and the sociopolitical dynamics of the Korean peninsula. As an intern at HRNK, she plans to further her understanding of North Korean policy and culture to aid her in not only completing her undergraduate education, but in identifying a specific career path within the field of human rights research.
