Do Yun Kim is a senior at American University, majoring in International Studies with concentrations in Peace, Global Security, and Conflict Resolution in East Asia. She is also pursuing a minor in Asian Studies. She has worked as an anti-trafficking intern at Covenant House PA, where her desire to combat human rights abuses intensified, especially violence against women and children. She has maintained a strong interest in the Korean peninsula and is Vice President of the Korean Student Association at her university. She hopes to strengthen her knowledge of international human rights law and defend the dignity and welfare of the world’s most vulnerable. She is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to HRNK’s mission in advancing research and advocacy on the human rights situation in North Korea.
