Song-Yee Kwon

Song-Yee Kwon graduated with a B.A in Child and Family Studies and Business Administration from Kyungbuk National University. Through the Asan Washington Young Fellow Program, she joined HRNK. She worked as volunteer at Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for 18 months in Africa in 2012. Faced with problems of famine and refugees in Rwanda, she became concerned with human rights. After returning to Korea, she started studying humanities, politics, and economics at the Asan Academy. She began to pay more attention to issues involving the history of the two Korea and North Korea during Asan Academy programs.
During her time at HRNK, she hopes to broaden her vision regarding human rights. She would also like to spread information about North Korea’s human rights issues to more people.
