Kasey Buecheler

Kasey Buecheler received a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Dance and Asian Studies along with a minor in Korean from the University at Buffalo.  She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science from Yonsei University as a part of the Korean Government Scholarship Program.  Kasey developed an interest in North Korean human rights issues after taking courses on North Korean politics and unification affairs at Yonsei. Deeper insight into the inner workings of the North Korean regime allowed her to get a better understanding of the systemic human rights abuses in the DPRK.  Through this internship at HRNK, Kasey hopes to use what she has learned to contribute to increased public awareness about human rights issues in North Korea and help HRNK’s cause.
