North Korea, China and Korean Unification
This panel combines papers dealing with North Korea, China and Korean unification. Several angles are applied to study this issues, using other cases of unification for comparative purposes. The other two papers look at the influence of Chinese policies on North Korean and Myanmar domestic policies and the role of regional actors with regard to nuclear programs of North Korea and Iran. Using different methodologies and theoretical frameworks, the panel highlights the key role of China as a regional actor which also affects models of Korean unification.

The Two Koreas and Inter-Korean Relations
This panel focuses on regional issues related to the division of the Korean peninsula. The papers discuss the relations between the two states and the changes such connections have undergone over time. As the two states have drifted apart and developed in different ways, nuclear technology continues to play an important part in the security environment on the peninsula and the wider region.
Building on different starting points, the panels highlights the role of domestic actors and identities in the policy making process both on the domestic and international arena.
